Walmart Business Expands B2B Features to Rival Amazon

By Procurement Desk · 05 November 2026

Walmart is scaling its B2B platform to compete with Amazon Business, introducing spend analytics and net 30-day payment terms for commercial buyers.

Walmart is intensifying its competition with Amazon in the B2B procurement sector by enhancing its dedicated business platform. The retail giant is leveraging its massive store network to offer small and midsize businesses (SMBs) faster fulfilment, including curbside pickup and direct-to-office delivery for a curated catalogue of over 100,000 items.

To better serve professional buyers, the platform has introduced sophisticated spend management tools. These analytics allow purchasing managers to track organisational expenditure by user and category, providing visibility that was previously difficult for smaller firms to achieve without expensive enterprise software.

In a significant move for supply chain finance, Walmart has partnered with TreviPay to offer 'Pay By Invoice' functionality. This provides eligible customers with a net 30-day line of credit, helping to optimise working capital and streamline the reconciliation process through itemised invoicing.

While the current expansion is focused on the US market, the shift highlights a growing global trend of major retailers pivoting towards B2B procurement services. For UK procurement professionals, this development signals a broader market move towards retail-style ease of use combined with professional-grade financial controls.
