Trading Standards Issues Recalls for Retail Consumer Goods
By Safety Desk · 06 November 2026
Recent alerts from Buckinghamshire & Surrey Trading Standards highlight safety risks involving entrapment hazards in children's tents and thermal failure in glassware.
The latest safety roundup from Buckinghamshire & Surrey Trading Standards has identified significant risks in two consumer products, prompting immediate recalls. The alerts cover a pop-up tent found to pose an entrapment risk and glass mugs prone to shattering when used with hot liquids.
ASDA has recalled its Kidz Pop Up Bear Tent after safety assessments indicated a risk of entrapment. Separately, F&F has withdrawn its Glass Latte Mugs from sale following reports of the glass failing, which presents a serious risk of burns and lacerations to users.
While these items are consumer-facing, the recalls serve as a reminder for procurement managers regarding the importance of batch tracking and the rigorous testing required for glass and collapsible equipment. Entities operating in hospitality or providing creche facilities should audit their current stock against these specific model warnings.
