Safety Warning for Urban Arrow Cargo Bikes: Seat Post Recall

By Safety Desk · 07 November 2026

Urban Arrow is recalling specific cargo e-bikes due to a seat post bolt defect that may lead to sudden saddle detachment and potential rider injury.

A safety report has been issued for several Urban Arrow electric cargo bike models following concerns regarding the Satori Trident seat post. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) notes that a front bolt in the clamping mechanism can fail if overtightened. This failure risk could lead to the saddle detaching without warning during operation, posing a significant risk of falls and injury.

The recall affects models produced between 2016 and 2022, including the Urban Arrow Family, Shorty, Cargo, and Tender. These vehicles are frequently utilised for last-mile logistics and industrial deliveries. Products sold outside of this production window do not feature the affected Satori Trident component and are not included in this safety notice.

To address the hazard, Urban Arrow has launched a modification programme. Affected seat posts will be replaced with a newer Promax component free of charge. The manufacturer has stated that the current configuration does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.

Safety and procurement managers responsible for delivery fleets should identify affected bikes and contact an authorised dealer to arrange the replacement. Continued use of the bikes without the modification is not recommended until the safety hardware has been updated.
