Recall Issued for Axkid Minikid Core Child Car Seats

By Safety Desk · 07 November 2026

Axkid has recalled its Minikid Core car seat after the model failed to meet internal safety performance standards. A free replacement programme is now active.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has announced a product recall for the Axkid Minikid Core car seat. This belt-installed, extended rear-facing seat is designed for children ranging from newborn up to approximately seven years of age (40-125cm).

According to the recall notice, the unit failed to reach the safety performance levels required by the manufacturer's own internal standards. While the specific nature of the performance failure was not detailed, the risk has prompted a full recall from end users to ensure passenger safety.

Axkid is offering a free replacement Axkid Minikid 4 Pro to affected customers. To facilitate this, owners must locate the Car Seat ID on the product label situated on the underside of the seat; this ID typically begins with the characters "E9".

For procurement managers or organisations providing fleet or childcare equipment, it is essential to identify any Minikid Core units in service and register them via the manufacturer's safety portal immediately. Using equipment that falls short of safety benchmarks presents a significant liability and safety risk.
