Recall: High-Power Laser Projector Risking Eye Damage
By Safety Desk · 05 November 2026
A USB-rechargeable mini laser projector has been recalled due to excessive beam power that poses a significant risk of permanent sight damage to users.
A safety alert has been issued for a 60-pattern mini laser projector, commonly marketed as a 'Party Light', after testing revealed the device's laser beam exceeds safe power limits. The product, which is USB-rechargeable and supplied with a remote control, does not comply with the European safety standard EN 60825-1.
The excessive power of the laser means that direct exposure to the beam could lead to serious eye injuries. In response to these findings, the product has been removed from online marketplace listings and a full recall from end-users has been initiated.
For UK trade buyers and site managers, this recall highlights the importance of ensuring that any lighting or optical equipment sourced via international online marketplaces meets British and European safety standards. Procurement teams should verify that laser products are correctly classified and compliant with EN 60825-1 to prevent workplace hazards or public liability issues.
