Pactum Unveils AI Intake Agent for Autonomous Sourcing
By Procurement Desk · 07 November 2026
Pactum has launched a new AI Intake Agent designed to automate the indirect procurement cycle, from initial request to supplier negotiation, within SAP Ariba and Coupa.
Pactum has introduced its new AI Intake Agent, a tool designed to facilitate autonomous indirect procurement by translating plain-language requests into coded requisitions. The system is built to integrate with major enterprise platforms including SAP Ariba, Coupa, and Microsoft Teams, allowing staff to describe their requirements without navigating complex internal forms.
The software acts as a front-end filter, checking requests against company buying policies and existing contracts before submission. By identifying approved suppliers and appropriate accounting codes automatically, the agent aims to reduce the administrative burden on procurement teams who often face delays due to incomplete or incorrectly filed requisitions.
Once a request is verified, it can be passed to other autonomous agents within the Pactum ecosystem to handle sourcing and price negotiations. This end-to-end automation is intended for indirect spend categories such as office equipment, software, and professional services, ensuring that high-volume, low-complexity purchases follow governance rules without manual intervention.
For UK procurement managers, this development represents a shift towards 'agentic AI' where the software manages the entire workflow rather than just providing data analysis. While the system handles routine tasks, human buyers are still required to manage exceptions and complex commercial decisions that require professional judgement.
